last night i got nicely drunk again, it was my last night at swarthmore (in a while) so i guess a little indulgence was appropriate~ headed out with my half bottle of stolichnaya russian vodka, which i just can't drink by myself. met matt and his gf on the way, his girl just got here from columbia, man she s hot~ earlier on that evening i saw him at the train station,holding some flowers, going to the airport~ matt is a great dude. i suddenly realize i might not even see him again, he graduating early(like now) and im going abroad...he told me he s gonna move to columbia and get married.lol there r so many things u can do in columbia...~ ppl have big plans.when i first met this dude back in freshman year i was shocked by his chinese.. never heard a white dude speak chinese so well, u know, tones were right on. and he told me that he only stayed in taiwan for like 11 months...later i found out his dad is a chinese prof...bleh...anyway, he met his gf in taiwan, so they both speak chinese, besides spanish and of course english... matt's a good dude, wish him luck

so i went to this little end of semester party, had some (or a lot) to drink, good times. lots of kids there, i probably won't be able to see when i come back...i never thought i would miss this place until it's 24 hours before my departure. i always propose to drink to 'the end of swarthmore' lol but im the one that's gonna come back eventually.. most kids are seniors~ i wish i can come back n see them graduate in the summer. well, it all ddepends on if i get this research with this new guy in the cs dept. he just graduated from UCSD and had some cool music information retrieval projects. but getting this research pretty much depends on one's performance in this information retrieval course next semester, which i can't take cuz im not around -_-...

as i left the party i felt fine, a little tipsy, but no problem going down the stairs. i even walked this korean dude back to his hall. come to think abt it now i was probably  more drunk than he was. met more friends on the way back and said bye to them. when i got back to my room, i felt things start to spin a little bit...sat down, turned off my computer and after a while...i puked on the carpet. dude.. carpet is good to have but when u puke on it this shit stays forever..super gross. lucky it was all just *liquid*, no funny shit came out lol i can sort of find the marks from the last time i puked.. the first time as well.. so that ll make this one the second lol. ya well but who cares, im leaving this damn place~ some dude s gonna move in after me and it makes a cool present if he ever notices.

so i ll prob sit around and do nothing for another 6 hours and head out. good ol septa r3 train, university city, say bye to alex, get on the r1, which is full of passengers as well as (mostly ..african american) cleaners who work in the airport. i typed the word black, and thot about the n word and changed it back.

it's funny cuz i was watching american history x. fucking awesome movie. anyone who says how great crash is should go to hell...edward norton is the mannnnggggg~ it's a little disturbing to think about the ideas and even more disturbing to realise how it all makes sense to be like that. i often ask dan and other new yorker friends how they feel about the fact that their city is pretty much taken over by immigrants...all the grocery stores, pizza place, chinatown, flushing....it's all foreigners. when u walk on the street, 9 out of 10 are not even americans...maybe 99 out of 100 are not new yorkers lol...dan lives on the north of manhatten a very black neighborhood. i would probably feel more like home there than downtown if i were american. this reminds me of another movie by edward norton---25th hour. he had like a 5 minute long rant in the script on new yorker immigrants... ah.so edward norton went to prison in american history x, almost went to prison in primal fear and 25th hour, got anal-ed in american history x while in prison, got away with jailtime by faking in the other 2 movies, and entertained the idea of being used in a similar way if he were to go to jail in 25th hour, not from below but from above... aw..
what american history x left me with is the realization that i m no longer as opinionated as used be...everything is fine with me, too chill to care...i remmber my middle school teacher telling me i 'dun have principles'. but that was a different thing, i remmber. having opinions is equivalent to having a point. as u can see, i dun have much of a point this blog entry so far. just bullshitting all the way. derek had his principles, but gave up after getting anal-ed in prison. that hurt. im thinking did i have my principles over the years? wot's my principles, and how firm am i gonna hold on to it?

上个星期的某一天我一口气把bourne 三部曲又全部看了一次。。真tm过瘾。同时对bourne 的主题曲产生了浓厚的兴趣，随手几个riff搞定

这首曲子谨献给jason bourne 和 john powers. 剽窃了john petrucci的几个小节。

听了几遍发现

1.失真的那段完全就是kerry king的感觉

end of semester always mark the time to sell off gears acquired in that season...so as i pack shit get ready for europe, i gotta get rid of my guitars in exchange for some good ol cash

 

1. ibanez rg550 20th anniversary.

   the rg550 has already become some sort of collector piece. first introduced in the 80's, it is one of the few (i think only one...) models that remained in production till present... and it is probably the only model that holds its value so consistently. anyway, i saw this one pop up on ebay for 550 dollars + free shipping so i got it. checked it out, played really nice, the case is prettier than my prs case...lol. really nice details in the craftsmanship. the only downside is the block neck joint. as i dun have alien fingers like paul gilbert does. the wizard neck is super thin, the thinnest ibanez ever. but i kinda pretty a rounder shape now. plus thickness gives better resonance. i didn make much profit on this guy tho lol cuz i knew everyone was looking for that desert yellow with maple fingerboard instead of this all black dude.

 

 2. ibanez proline pl2550

  this is a super rare top of the line model back in the 80's, ibanez's answer to jackson usa soloist. with neck thru and ebony board. active circuit system, basically 2 pup selector systems. push pull tone knob to split coil on bridge, 2 single coil in neck and middle. the neck is more chunky than rg550 but feels great. fingerboard is super smooth. does a good tele sound when split. the greatest thing is that it felt brighter and more articulate than any axe i current have...playing seems effortless since notes stand out clear and ring through. the rg seems lifeless and has lots of noise. it was sold in a heartbeat after i listed on ebay...and it looks like i made some good profit on this one~ i would probably keep it if the fretwear was less significant.  this is gonna be one guitar that i ll miss forever.. just like my carvin.
